This is an Initial Safety Care class for those who have never taken a Safety Care class or their certification has expired. The in person competency-based training is scheduled for 2 days and will take approximately 12-16 hours in total. Please dress comfortably and wear close toed shoes (particularly on Day 2) because there will be a lot of movement and hands-on activities. Please bring something to write with as well as water, snacks, a lunch, etc. We will take a 10 minute break in the morning, a 30 minute lunch, and a 10 minute break in the afternoon. We will begin at 8AM sharp to ensure that the trainers do not need to hold folks past 4:00 PM on the second day. Again, it is not a time-based training but a competency-based one and trainees cannot pass unless they have completed all of the content areas and demonstrated understanding of concepts and fluency with physical safety and management. You must attend the entire duration of both days in order to participate in the training.
